Earthquake Update from Museum Director

Posted: 31 March 2011

The Museum’s building systems and utilities, including power, water and security are now fully functional and staff have started work on assigned projects as part of the earthquake recovery process.

Normal operations and programmes are suspended while the Museum is in earthquake recovery mode and we will remain closed to the public until further notice.

The Heart of the Great Alone exhibition was successfully de-installed and has been collected by a representative of the Royal Collection and returned to the United Kingdom in preparation for its next season at Buckingham Palace.
