Become a detective and gain an insight into the work of an archaeologist by getting hands-on with an ancient rubbish dump to understand how our ancestors lived and settled in Aotearoa (New Zealand).

  • Get their hands dirty examining archaeological material from real middens (ancient rubbish dumps)
  • Learn how to interpret ancient evidence
  • Examine the Māori galleries to understand how our ancestors lived and settled in Aotearoa.
