Explore the Sun and the physical properties of light in this interactive exhibition.

Sunlight – Ihi Kōmaru, developed at Te Manawa, examines the Sun and light through the many different interactive exhibits and practical activities.

Key Learning Areas: Nature of Science – Investigating and communicating in Science; Science – Physical World; Mathematics; Technology 

Duration: 1.5 hours

Suitable for: Year 3 – 10, maximum 30 students

Availability: 3 April – 6 July

The Education Programme

Guided by our educators, your students will:

  • experience the Sunlight – Ihi Kōmaru exhibition

  • explore concepts around the physical properties of light

  • investigate how mirrors and lenses change the behaviour of light

  • use their observations of the exhibition to construct a mirror maze.

This programme may be shortened for younger students.
