Canterbury Potters

This exhibition is no longer on display at the Museum.

Beautiful pottery exhibited and for sale in the 44th Annual Exhibition by Canterbury Potters Association members.

Work by Sue NewittEmerging and well-established crafts people and ceramic artists are exhibiting this year with a diverse range of work from domestic functional ware to large sculptural pieces; a lovely variety of form and colour.

This year's selector and Guest Exhibitor is Sue Newitt from Nelson,

Sue started learning about clay way back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She attended the Otago Polytechnic Art School for three years, then spent a year on the full-time ceramic course. Sue finds clay very versatile with many ways of working, finishing and glazing. The results are always fascinating and the journey always interesting. This is what keeps Sue working with clay and trying to make work people like to have in their homes and to use in their everyday life.
