Canterbury Museum has gone to the dogs!
Come to Dog Days to meet real huskies and see what dogs like them achieved in Antarctica.
Two canine ambassadors from Husky Rescue NZ are popping in to visit our Dogs in Antarctica: Tales from the Pack exhibition on select weekends.
Many of the dogs who pulled sledges and provided friendship for Antarctic explorers were huskies. Their strength and thick fur made them ideally suited for work on the icy continent.
The dogs from Husky Rescue NZ will be in the exhibition from 1.00 pm until 3.00 pm on 6 October, 9 December and 17 February 2019. Come along to meet the huskies and see what dogs like them achieved in Antarctica.
Please note that no other dogs (apart from service dogs) are allowed in the Museum.
