I Call to Her
A short performance work by Nina Oberg Humphries using sound recording, poetry and dance. Starts outside the Museum, then moves through some of the Level 1 galleries.
The dance will be performed in costume with actions and gestures culturally characteristic of Tongan, Samoan, Cook Island and Māori women's traditional dance.
Nina Oberg Humphries is a local artist. Her work explores her identity and the relationships between her Pacific and Western heritage. It is based on her experience and understanding of what it means to be a young Pacific person growing up and living in Ōtautahi (Christchurch) today.
