Take part in this global biodiversity event and help record as many species in the city as possible.

Canterbury Museum is hosting two events as part of this weekend event.

The Bioblitz Bonanza Evening will run at the Climate Action Campus, 180 Avonside Drive on 26 April from 5.30 pm to 9.00 pm. Come meet the scientists behind the iNaturalistNZ App and explore our night-time nature, recording what we find for the City Nature Challenge. Bring your torch, warm clothes and a camp chair for hanging out.

Bioblitz in the Styx offers lakes, rivers, and baby forests to explore. It will take place on 27 April from 8.30 am to 2.00 pm at Te Waoku Kahikatea Reserve, 303 Radcliffe Road. Come along to search and discover biodiversity along the Pūharakekenui/Styx River. The Styx Living Lab Trust, Christchurch City Council Libraries outreach van and Canterbury Museum will be on-site sampling biodiversity, to help discover what lives along the river and upload photos into iNaturalist NZ for the City Nature Challenge. Bring your picnic and your phone or camera to help us record all the nature that surrounds us.
