Crawling, flitting, hopping or climbing – our insect neighbours sure do get around.

Visit Our Insect Neighbours at Tūranga library to see all sorts of wondrous critters and learn something new. Spy a native praying mantis, learn a pūrākau about a maggot or marvel at bug-catching contraptions. This exhibition features cases of pinned insects from New Zealand and around the world which used to be on display as drawers in Canterbury Museum's Discovery space.

Runs until 17 May 2026 at Te Pito Huarewa Gallery, Level 2, Tūranga. All ages. Free, no bookings required. This exhibition is a collaboration with Christchurch City Council Tūranga Library.
